RDF Gateway lets you harness the power of the Semantic Web to provide solutions. The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is the technology standard for the Semantic Web and is foundation for RDF Gateway. Solutions that are based on RDF can dynamically link information sources based on semantics. This means more flexible solutions that are based on shared information and are adaptive to changes in data models that inevitably change over time. With RDF Gateway you can develop your own or deploy an existing solution to meet your needs.

Applied

Enterprise Information Integration

RDF Gateway can integrate multiple disparate data sources to perform powerful federated searches. Inference rules map data from different schemas into a single query schema. Its data service interface allow virtually any electronic data source to be conntected to RDF Gateway.

Content Syndication

Publish content to the Internet using RDF Gateway and RSS. RDF Gateway can store the content descriptions internally or gather them from external sources. RDF Gateway can aggregate and transform content descriptions prior to publishing.

Enterprise Information Portals

RDF Gateway is a web server that can host multiple information portals for the enterprise. Use RDF Gateway's powerful data integration features to allow users to search for information across multiple data sources as if they were one. Its server pages allow information to be easily transformed into HTML.

News Aggregators

Bring together favorite newsfeeds on the desktop with RDF Gateway. Its internal timer and event structure makes it easy to periodically gather news from the Internet. RDF Gateway's powerful query langauage allows for rich queries, rule based categorization, and full-text search of news articles.

Document Management

RDF Gateway can gather and store metadata for many different document types using its data services. Its powerful query language enables precise document searches and rule based categorization. RDF Gateway's file system events allow it to detect external changes to documents and update its internal database with the latest metadata.

Blogging

Become a part of the blogging phenomenon with RDF Gateway by publishing personal information and content to the Web. Share contact lists, calendars, agendas, and opinions with others by using RDF Gateway to gather and publish information using RDF.

Business Intelligence

Gather and analyze information using RDF Gateway. Timer based agents, implemented with RDF Gateway's scripting language, gather information from various data sources like CRM systems and Web sites. Queries and inference rules analyze and summarize information.

Personal Information Management

RDF Gateway is a free-form database for managing just about any type of information. Use RDF Gateway to gather and organize information about emails, documents, images, music, and news. RDF Gateway can even gather information by crawling the Internet based on search engine results.

Abstract

Information Value Chain

Applications running on RDF Gateway create a distributed information network based on open Internet standards. Each network node provides value-added information to its adjacent nodes. The result is an information network that provides value that far exceeds that of the sum of the individual nodes. Information requests from a node are serviced on-demand by adjacent nodes, dynamically generating a semantic network routing that results in an information value chain from source to destination.

Semantic Integration

RDF Gateway's ability to perform logical inferencing enables it to automatically integrate disparate data sources based on semantics. RDF enables schemas that are rich in semantics making it possible to dynamically map information between schemas. This allows multiple data sources with different schemas to be searched using a query expressed in an entirely different schema. This concept goes beyond traditional data integration and is refered to as semantic integration.
