Intellidimension Releases New Version of Semantic Web Technologies

Brattleboro, VT – Intellidimension, Inc. a leading provider of Semantic Web infrastructure technologies for Microsoft Windows and the .NET Framework announced today that it has released Semantics Platform v 2.0. The new release offers significant improvements in performance and scalability to meet the growing demands of Intellidimension customers to store and query larger distributed data sets. Intellidimension’s Semantics Platform is made up of three products: Semantics.Datacenter, Semantics.Server, and Semantics.Framework.

Semantics.Datacenter v 2.0 is a RDF storage solution based on proprietary in-memory database technology. It provides a scale-out strategy for RDF data storage through the distribution of data and processing over an expandable set of worker nodes deployed in a cluster. A built in jobs framework provides highly parallelized processing of data on the cluster, further enhancing the performance and scalability of the system. Intellidimension Semantics.Datacenter v 2.0 measures 5 times faster than competitive Semantic Web product offerings in industry standard benchmark tests (Berlin 100M 5/25/10).

Semantics.Framework v 2.0 provides a feature-packed RDF library for the .NET Framework that enables developers to create Semantic Web applications in .NET languages such as C# using a rich API. It includes visual development tools that aid users in loading and managing RDF data and testing SPARQL queries. A newly available Express Edition provides nearly all of the features of the Standard Edition but has no licensing costs.

Semantics.Server v2.0 provides RDF data management capabilities to Microsoft SQL Server, including support for SPARQL queries.

Intellidimension Co-founder Geoff Chappell commented on the new release, "The features in v 2.0 demonstrate our commitment to meet the rigorous requirements of our customers who need real time query response over massive amounts of distributed data. Semantics.Datacenter offers excellent performance and can scale for web or enterprise Semantic Web applications."

Intellidimension Announces new Semantic Web Technology Partnership with Matrikon

Intellidimension, Inc. a leading provider of Semantic Web infrastructure technologies announced today that it has entered into a multi-year technology partnership with Matrikon (TSX:MTK). Matrikon’s Intuition Program incorporates Intellidimension’s Semantics.Server and Semantics.SDK and delivers industrial intelligence in a revolutionary way – providing context to enable all people, processes and applications to work in concert. This empowers collaboration across departments and functional areas, geographic boundaries, languages and currency and enables industrial clients to achieve operational excellence by automating action.

As a company with 10 years of experience developing Semantic Web technologies, Intellidimension offers robust tools that can scale to manage massive data sets. "We selected Intellidimension as our Semantic Web technology partner because they offer a platform that can scale with the information management needs of our customers while providing a high level of performance," said Peter Lawrence, Chief Technical Officer. "Intellidimension has been an excellent technology partner in supporting our development of this key initiative for Matrikon. The semantic model allows multiple data relationships, which better reflect the interdependencies of a real plant model - a key component of Matrikon’s next generation technology."

Intellidimension co-founder Geoff Chappell commented, "Matrikon is an ideal partner for our company. They have embraced the power and potential of Semantic Web technologies and can leverage our 10 years of Semantic Web development experience to deliver an enterprise class solution that is more flexible and costs less to maintain that traditional relational database technologies."

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) Acknowledges Intellidimension's Work

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) acknowledges Intellidimension's work on providing greater access to government data online. Intellidimension provided the semantic technology that powers the ThisWeKnow web site that improves citizen access to US Government data about their community. Most data for this web site was obtained from the Data.gov site. The data was converted to RDF and loaded into Intellidimension's database product to expose interconnections between data from different government agencies.

Senator Leahy's remarks are recorded in the US Congressional Record and can be viewed here.

Intellidimension Integrates RDF Gateway with Microsoft Interactive Media Manager Solution

Intellidimension announces that Microsoft has integrated Intellidimension RDF Gateway in their new product, Microsoft Interactive Media Manager. Interactive Media Manager is a server-based solution which enables organizations to better manage the complexity inherent in the digital content lifecycle, from content creation to management to distribution. The solution, an extension of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, is specifically designed for organizations in the media and entertainment industry, including film, television & postproduction studios, broadcasters, game developers, publishers and advertising and marketing agencies.

"We're excited about our work with Microsoft, which combines Intellidimension technologies with their recently introduced Interactive Media Manager solution," said co-founder and CEO of Intellidimension Geoff Chappell. "It's inline with our business goals and is an important vote of confidence in our technology. It's also a great sign for the semantic web in general that a technology leader such as Microsoft is embracing semantic technologies."

As part of this integration, Intellidimension enhanced RDF Gateway to support Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a storage engine for its RDF deductive database. This integration with SQL Server will be available widely with the next release of RDF Gateway, providing Intellidimension enterprise users all of the capabilities of RDF Gateway with the added reliability and manageability of SQL Server for their mission critical data.

"We chose to integrate the Intellidimension solution based on the strength of its technology and the company's semantic web expertise," said John Deutscher, group program manager of Industry Solutions at Microsoft Corp. "We needed a robust and scalable RDF repository with tight integration into SQL Server 2005 to meet our goals for housing extensible metadata in Interactive Media Manager, and RDF Gateway addressed our requirements."
